Created for the Birds of the BVI exhibition with Creative Waves BVI, this series brings together six intimate watercolour studies of birdlife found throughout the British Virgin Islands.
Painted on Arches paper, each piece explores the character, colour, and quiet presence of its subject — from coastal birds and wading birds to flashes of tropical colour seen in the landscape. Together, the works form a small celebration of the islands’ natural beauty, capturing not only the birds themselves, but also the atmosphere of the places they inhabit.
The series reflects an ongoing interest in observation, movement, and the delicate balance between looseness and detail that watercolour allows. As a group, the paintings offer a personal response to the wildlife, light, and coastal identity of the BVI.
