This small series of hummingbird watercolours explores the delicate movement, colour, and fleeting presence of one of nature’s most captivating birds. Painted on Arches paper, each work captures a different moment — a pause, a turn, a shimmer of wings, or the quiet intensity of feeding in flight.
The series allowed for a playful but focused study of transparency, layered colour, and the balance between looseness and detail that watercolour offers. Shown together, the paintings celebrate the energy and fragility of the hummingbird, while reflecting a continuing interest in wildlife, observation, and the natural beauty of the Caribbean.
